Yes, some cheeses are not well-suited for electric graters due to their moisture content or soft texture. Cheeses like Cheddar, Mozzarella, and Monterey Jack are not recommended for electric grating as they have a higher moisture content and a softer texture, which can cause them to stick to the grater’s blades. Recommended cheeses are hard cheeses such as Pecorino Romano, Parmesan, and Grana Padano.
This machine should be used for no more than 15 minutes at a time, followed by a 15 minute break between uses.
For medium-duty applications which would require more frequent use, it is recommended that customers purchase a model with at least a 1 hp motor. The 1/2 hp models are designed for light-duty tasks and will not be able to withstand a higher volume of use.
